Charlotte Extreme Programming Group

Well, I was tired of wondering if anyone else in Charlotte was doing XP, and since it looks like the XPDay conference helped push our company in that direction, I've started up a Charlotte XP group. Hang on to your hats - I'm going to light an XP fire yet around here!

  • This is an excellent tactic and a great way to build the XP community! It is also a way to become the XP\Agile guru in your city.

From my experience, it is best to have monthly programs no matter what - beg, cajole, bride and arm twist people to get presenters. We orginally started out as a lunchtime conversation group (and probably would have stayed that way), but it was the monthly presentations which really fueled our growth and longevity. Here are some speaker guidelines we use that might help you plan your group. Think big since your group is only limited by your immagination.

The only thing that occassionally disappoints me is I know there are more people doing XP in the busienss community than who show up at our meetings. Most of our attendees want to do XP, but we hear very little from people DOING XP. Everyone loves experience reports, but it is hard to find those people.
